When people hear Neratovice, they imagine a chemical industry town full of chimneys. The square is made up of apartment blocks. The town lacks a dignified landmark. The new church is meant to become one.
The fact that the main square in Neratovice consists only of railway tracks, parking lots, a small park with a pond, a swimming pool, and a pile of apartment blocks topped by a twelve-story building is a very sad consequence of Communist demagoguery. The city's landmark is not formed by any other buildings outside this square, as is the case in other Czech towns.
And since an architecturally significant and, above all, dignified landmark could finally be here now, let us work to make it a reality.
